Miracles up close
The kind of magic that takes place right in front of you or even in your own hands is called close-up magic. More or less all of the tricks are interactive, making audience members a big part of the show. Close-up is used with smaller audiences such as perhaps only one person or a handful of people. After the size of the audience has been determined the show will be planned for them (for example a table at a restaurant). Close-up is a form of magic that can be performed anywhere and at any time.
The magician uses everyday objects that can be found anywhere. He may use a deck of cards, perhaps the most common choice, rubber bands, napkins, bills, coins, forks, glasses, and so on. Close-up is suitable for events where the magician can walk among his audience and perform amazing acts using objects that can be found in any home. Just think: he can perform his magic in your hands. For magic that makes you gasp in awe and believe in the impossible, choose close-up.
Also keep in mind the stand-up option.
Kimmo was one of the 5 finalists (4th place) in the 2011 Finnish championships in restaurant magic (close-up).
